Live On Purpose

I ask myself why would I be alive and breathing if there is no reason, and of course, it doesn’t make sense that there would be no reason. So, since I can remember, I have been asking myself these questions, ‘’why am I alive?” “why am I here?”

After years of searching, I found the answer! But here’s the thing, I didn’t find the answer to this question from family or friends. I didn’t see it from my situation at the time; I found it within me.

And from that day, the day I found the answer, I decided to believe that I was given a chance at life, that I am strong enough to live it, and hence I am a firm believer in the adage of the two most important days of our lives are

  1. The day we are born and

  2. The day we find out why

I am excited today to write to you about LIVING ON PURPOSE!

You were created for a reason.

You are worthy and valuable.

There is a call on your life.

You have a purpose.

And here is the thing about purpose; it changes your life entirely, and you must know that someone some-where is depending on you to live in that purpose because you are their breakthrough. There is a light within you that will end the darkness of another.

THE VERY CENTRE OF PURPOSE: CHOICE

At the centre of living on purpose is CHOICE. What is a choice? The googled definition says that a choice is an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. We have to realise that daily we are faced with options, whether good or bad!

Sometimes we are faced with so many bad possibilities that we do not realise that there are good possibilities at every corner; however, today, I want to remind you that we have a choice between life and death, good and evil.

With that said, I am fully aware that life deals us some very sour lemons, and often it seems never to stop. But let me remind you that there is a delicious lemonade recipe for every sour lemon! So, RISE, you are a victor, NOT a victim.

Discovering your purpose will be unique for every individual. Unfortunately, situations or circumstances often cloud us; let me enlighten you on how I found my purpose; perhaps I can be the light to your darkness!

  1. I believed that I had a purpose. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

  2. I separated myself from the too many daily activities to spend time with myself, getting to know and love myself.

  3. I started writing down all the things I loved doing and am passionate about. So everything that would make me really upset or sad, for example, the kids going hungry in Africa and things that would keep me up at night with excitement, like doing events.

  4. Once I had written these down, I noticed a thread or a theme, and from there, I created pointers or notes on what they were. For example, mine was LOVE / INSPIRE / LEAD / DEVELOP / PURPOSE, and so daily, I go out looking for opportunities to feed my purpose by loving, inspiring, leading and developing people.

  5. Thenlastly, findamentor.Findsomeoneyou recognise and acknowledge is living a life that aligns with the life you would like and ask them to guide you in designing and building that life.

It all sounds so simple, and that’s the thing; many things are a lot less complicated than we make them seem. And the most crucial bit of insight from me is this … START! Start today!

Here and now is what you have, and you must do whatever you can with it! You will not know until you try, and if you are afraid of failing, teach yourself that failure is not fatal and permanent; that is not how life works. Making mistakes is how we learn. Falling is how we know to get up. If you choose, you to can rise.
